CIBD 2024 Contest For Book Lovers

Welcome to our Contest for Book Lovers! This initiative encourages readers to buy books on Canadian Independent Bookstore Day in support and celebration of indies. Please read through our steps to enter below. Books must be purchased from a Canadian independent bookstore on Saturday, April 27 to be eligible.

The entry form will available on this page beginning at midnight on April 27 until 11:59pm PT on April 28.

Prizes

This year, CIBA is giving away five gift cards to Canadian independent bookstores. Four readers will win $200 each to the independent bookstore of their choice and one very lucky winner will win the grand prize of $1,000 to their favourite indie!

How To Enter

1. Buy books from your favourite indie

Every book purchased from a Canadian independent bookstore on April 27 is worth one entry. Books written and/or illustrated by Canadian creators will be worth double. Books can be purchased in-store, online, or by phone. Proof of purchase is required.

2. Fill out the contest form

The link to our entry form will be found on this page between 12:00am AT on April 27 and 11:59pm PT on April 28. You will be required to specify how many books you purchased and how many of those were by Canadian authors/illustrators. You will also be asked to upload your proof of purchase and certify that you understand the terms and conditions.

3. Hope you win!

After the contest closes, the CIBA team will randomly select five winners. CIBA will contact prospective winners via the information provided at the time of entry with next steps.

No purchase necessary. Contest runs April 27, 2024 at 12:00:00 am AT to April 28, 2024 at 11:59:59 pm PT. Open to residents of Canada who are of the legal age of majority. Five (5) prizes consisting of gift certificates to Canadian independent bookstores ranging in retail value up to one thousand dollars ($1,000); One (1) winner per prize.
