The need for self-care may be greater than ever. Self-Care is Scriptural is an insightful and essential guide to nurturing our physical and spiritual well-being amidst the unrelenting busyness of everyday life.Caring for our emotional and physical wellness is not selfish. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and God wants us to care for them along with our souls. He has given us many ways to refresh and re-energize beyond the bubble baths and eye masks the world offers. One way to discover them: Look to Jesus. He doesn’t neglect physiological needs. Rather, he points to the importance of satisfying hunger and thirst, relishing in rest, and savoring solitude. This workbook features Christ-centered wisdom and ways for how God wants us to care for ourselves, so that we can in turn care for others.
Practical self-care practices include:
- Honoring pockets of solitude (without feeling guilty)
- Asking for help when we need it (God may be waiting to work through someone else)
- Building up with God’s affirmations (Who does God say we are?)
